About Jim

Jim Martin brings over 25 years of experience in real estate advisory, valuation, and investment, working across both local and global markets. Throughout his career, Jim has provided a wide range of services—including consulting, valuations, market and feasibility studies, acquisition due diligence, transaction advisory, asset disposition, and REIT mergers and acquisitions. His expertise spans diverse property types such as office, industrial, retail, multifamily, hotels, R&D, entertainment facilities, development land, self-storage, agriculture, and timberland.

In addition to Fleet Real Estate Advisory Services, Jim is currently in Asset Management at Capital Hall Partners. Prior to Fleet Real Estate Advisory Services and Capital Hall Partners, Jim was a Senior Director with Kroll and Senior Manager in Ernst & Young’s Transaction Real Estate Services Group.

His academic background includes an MBA from Northeastern University, a Bachelor of Engineering from Dartmouth College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Hobart College. Jim is a Designated Member of the Appraisal Institute and a certified general real estate appraiser in Massachusetts.

Jim has also spent 20 years as an instructor in Boston University’s Real Estate Certificate program, where he led the RE175 Argus Cash Flow Modeling course.

Outside of work, Jim lives north of Boston with his wife and daughters. He’s spent many weekends at an ice rink coaching youth hockey and cheering for the Bruins and enjoys summer weekends in Maine.
